Every year, alongside the Student Leadership Awards, we hold a nomination process where students can recognize a faculty or staff member who has shown care for their well-being in the following way(s):
- Checking in with students
- Showing interest in students’ lives outside of academics
- Being sensitive to students’ unique circumstances
- Encouraging students to adopt healthy habits
Our 2024 Bobcat Well-being recipient is Dr. Daniel Mello, a lecturer in Psychology. Dr. Mello was nominated by multiple students, and here’s what one student had to say:
“Dr. Mello always arrives to class early and walks around interacting with students asking them about their day. His actions always show how much he cares about his student’s well-being. I enjoy being in Dr. Mello’s class.”
Thank you, Dr. Mello, for being a Well-being Champion, and for supporting our Bobcat family. Congratulations to all of our other nominees for also being recognized for supporting our students.
